The Younique Foundation is committed to helping and inspiring hope in women who were sexually abused as children or adolescents by providing healing services through retreats, survivor communities, and online resources. They also aim to empower parents and caregivers to protect children from sexual abuse through education and online resources.
As a non-profit, donations are the lifeblood of The Younique Foundation’s ability to provide resources to women recovering from abuse. To be considered a non-profit by the Federal Government, at least 33% of their donations have to come from external sources over the course of five years. To monitor how their donation sources comply with state and federal requirements, The Younique Foundation has designed their Philanthropy Dashboard to learn valuable insights about their public donations.
By analyzing each funding source and creating financial metrics to monitor donations, The Younique Foundation was able to create an accurate Philanthropy Dashboard to monitor ongoing donations from sponsors and external sources. Abe Young, Director of Finance and Operations, explains, “We have a total fundraising goal for our Philanthropy team, and our sponsors carry a lot of the weight. However, our sponsors aren’t included in our external fundraising goal, and we have to have the right balance of donations to meet the IRS requirements.”
Using Grow, The Younique Foundation was able to analyze their funding, enhance donor outreach, and improve fundraising efforts, bringing more resources to the women who benefit from their retreats.
In addition to using their Philanthropy Dashboard to improve donations and track their spending, The Younique Foundation was also able to monitor how the momentum from the #MeToo movement impacted their donations and outreach. To give people an easy way to donate, The Younique Foundation even added donations to their Facebook page, which they carefully track on their Philanthropy Dashboard. By spreading the word about #MeToo and shedding light on the important subject of sexual abuse recovery, The Younique Foundation is helping to change the world.
